Geneticist Ivan Rozin, unable to come to terms with the loss of his beloved mother, obsessively works on a scientific project to find a cure for death and improve the human genome. Violating increasingly ethical norms, the scientist, consumed by this idea, kidnaps two children. Their mother must stop Ivan and prove that his experiments lead not to improvement, but to the loss of his own humanity.
